Job Summary
The Adventures Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and implementing the Adventure Camps and Excursions for W.A.K.E., Inc. The camps include the Fishing Adventures Camp, the Hunting Adventures Camp, and the Outdoors Adventures Camp. The Adventures Coordinator will ensure that every aspect of the camps and excursions are planned in detail including logistics, equipment needs, licensure needs, and any other requirements to implement a successful Adventures experience. He/She will work closely with the Youth Referral Coordinator and the Chief Executive Officer to ensure participant and corporate compliance with state and federal guidelines for fishing and hunting. The Adventures Coordinator will serve on the Adventures Camps Committee.
Key Responsibilities
· Work with Board of Directors to identify Adventures Camps locations, needs, and budget
· Supervise all Camp Volunteers while onsite during each camp
· Identify the specific needs for each camp including equipment, logistics, volunteer needs, and participant numbers
· Prepare detailed reports and guidelines for each camp to include, but not limited to, a Camp Prospectus, Implementation Plan, Proposed and Final Budget, and Camp Pre- and Post-Assessments
· Serve as the point of contact for each Adventures Camp while onsite at camp locations
· Assist in training and information sessions, as needed, for volunteers for each camp
· Provide monthly updates to the Board of Directors regarding Camp preparation progress, needs, and successes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Must be well-organized and detail-oriented
· Demonstrated understanding of Fish & Game Regulations within state(s) where the camps and excursions are held
· Demonstrated interest, knowledge, and skills in outdoor sportsmanship, fishing, and/or hunting
· Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Practices superior time management
· Understands the purpose of the corporation and is well-versed in the bylaws, policies, and procedures
· Works as a team player
· Demonstrates good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
· Demonstrates a positive and enthusiastic demeanor and attitude
· Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and expectations
· Ability to work independently with limited guidance
· Proficient in MS Office, Social Media platforms, use of the internet, and general office equipment
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree is required.
· 3+ years of experience hunting, fishing, and/or camping

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for volunteers or employment. W.A.K.E., Inc. will make a conditional offer of employment or accept an application for volunteers, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current W.A.K.E., Inc. volunteer or employee who was conditionally offered the position.
